Description
Stress affects every single one of us in one way or another. It affects us when we are doing every day things like telling off our kids, during busy times at work, balancing our finances or even dealing with a relationship. Now a little pressure can drive us, but too much is NOT good for the body as over time it will break you down and you will end up sick, both physically, mentally and emotionally. Stress is how the body reacts to perceived or real situations where you feel threatened – a chemical reaction takes place in your body which is your ‘fight or flight’ response, which increases your heart rate, tightens up your muscles, speeds up your breathing, and also raises your blood pressure. You will notice emotional symptoms as a result of stress, like being moody, maybe you get frustrated and agitated. You could feel overwhelmed and want to take control or feel like you are losing control. You may have a hard time slowing down and being able to relax and clear your mind of everything that’s going on in your life. Stress can also make you feel bad about yourself and you can develop low self-esteem, feelings of loneliness and isolation, feel useless and maybe even depressed – you may even wish to avoid company completely. Physically you may experience MANY symptoms like high blood pressure, lethargy, headaches (which are very common), stomach issues or nausea, achy muscles, chest pains or elevated heart rate or palpitations. You may have difficulty sleeping, get frequent bouts of the cold and find it difficult to shake off because your immune system is massively affected by stress. You can also lose the desire for sex, experience shaking through feeling nervous, get hot and cold sweat episodes, dry mouth, grinding teeth – the list can go on. Mental symptoms you can experience can be of constant worrying, panic over racing thoughts, being forgetful and disorganized and you may have a reduced ability to focus on things which can also result in poor judgement. You may also come across as negative in most aspects of your life. The activations that we will run during this series will help you keep a positive attitude, be assertive and not aggressive, and set yourself healthy boundaries with the ability to say NO easily, and explain why you said no, without conflict. The energy can help you find peace inside, free of any pain, shock, trauma and negative emotions that are stuck in your body that keep you from handling your life, as well as many other things.
